BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The first Lehigh men’s basketball nonleague game of 2022-23 has been made public, as Syracuse announced on Thursday that it will host the Mountain Hawks on Monday, Nov. 7 at the JMA Wireless Dome. It will mark the season opener for both sides. The teams were scheduled to meet this past December, but was postponed then canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Syracuse program.

The Mountain Hawks last played Syracuse to open the 2015-16, falling 57-47 final. Lehigh began the second half on an 18-4 run to pull within six, but couldn’t get over the hump in a competitive contest against the Orange, a team that would go onto the Final Four that season. Lehigh is 0-4 against Syracuse all time.

The last ACC team the Mountain Hawks faced Virginia Tech on Nov. 16, 2019, which saw the score tied with five minutes left in the first half, but the Hokies pulled away in the second.

Syracuse finished this past season 16-17 and 9-11 in the ACC. The Orange beat Florida State in the ACC Tournament, 96-57, before falling to Duke, 88-79.
