Gowda graduated from Tufts

Westwood’s Abinav Gowda graduated from Tufts University on May 19 with a degree in applied mathematics (cum laude) during a university-wide opening ceremony with a speech by award-winning actress and activist Alfre Woodard.

Locals complete Assumption

The following Westwood residents graduated from the DCU Center in downtown Worcester on Sunday May 12th during the exercises for the 102nd Beginning of Assumption College: Michael Leonard, Rachael McClure, and Trevor McQuade.

Meincke graduated from UMass-Amherst

Suzanne Ruth Meincke from Westwood graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in February.

Ramolins graduated from Scranton

Ansis I. Ramolins of Westwood was among more than 850 undergraduate and associate recipients on May 26th at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Penn.

Ramolins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.

Locals graduate from Vermont

Approximately 3,275 students graduated during the University of Vermont’s 218th opening ceremonies.

Emily Hanlon, of Westwood, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public communications.

Abigail Krouson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory science.

Bridget McNamara of Westwood graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Exercise Science.

Donahue graduated from St. Lawrence

Caleigh A. Donahue of Westwood was one of nearly 615 students to graduate from St. Lawrence University during the opening ceremonies on May 19 in Canton, NY

Donahue studied Psychology and Government and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Magna cum Laude.

Donahue attended Westwood High School.

Siegel completed the AIC

Eileen Siegel, of Westwood, graduated from the American International College in Springfield with a degree in moderate disability at the 134th commencement in May.

Locals graduate from Dana Hall

Headmistress Katherine L. Bradley announced that Westwood residents Sofia Esposito and Kelly McGucken completed Dana Hall School at the school’s 138th practice session on Saturday June 1st on the school’s campus in Wellesley.

Capone is honored at Lehigh

Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, awarded Michael Capone of Westwood the status of dean in the spring semester.

Milton Curry College announced that Westwood’s James Terzian has been added to their deans list for the spring semester.

Bates honors the residents of Westwood

The following students have been added to the list of deans at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine for the winter semester ending in April.

Christina Perrone, of Westwood, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Perrone of Westwood, is a 2016 Westwood High School graduate. She is studying English and Philosophy.

Juliet Bockhorst of Westwood, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Bockhorst of Westwood, is a 2018 graduate of Westwood High School. She is a freshman.

Codrington receives the Spirit Award

The Spring Athletics Awards Night was held on May 20th at the Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, Waltham. Aaron Codrington of Westwood from Class of 2021 was awarded the Spirit Award for the Ultimate B Frisbee Team.

Ueno makes Assumption Dean’s list

Assumption College in Worcester announced that Westwood’s Hakudo Ueno has been added to the deans list for the spring semester.

St. Seb’s honors the residents of Westwood

The following Westwood residents were honored during the student awards ceremony at St. Sebastian’s School in Needham:

Christopher N. Hatem, Grade 11, received the Alizadeh Most Improved Student Award for significant academic improvement in his school years.

Patrick W. McDonald, Class 11, received the Robert J. Joyce Jr. Award for Best Example of Gentlemanly Qualities and St. Sebastian Spirit from Bob Joyce, Class of 1974, and a Chapel Speech Award.

Austin J. Persons, Grade 11, received the Gandolfo Prize for seeking and achieving excellence in modern and classical languages.

Jacobs makes the president’s list

Westwood’s Kailey Jacobs was named to the presidential list of Plymouth State University for the spring semester.

Jacobs is a major in criminal justice.
