UPDATE: Lehigh University Commencement Team increases student guest limit to four

In an email dated March 24, the University Commencement Team announced that the 2020 and 2021 class opening ceremonies will be held in person at Goodman Stadium May 21-24.

Due to the changing COVID-19 capacity limits, students in both graduating classes, unlike the two above, can bring four guests to their respective opening ceremonies.

In order to continue to comply with CDC assembly guidelines, the 2020 Class Opening Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, and the 2021 Class Opening Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 24th. A ceremony for the 2020 and 2021 graduate students was held on Friday, May 21st, following the virtual address given by former NASA astronaut and Lehigh professor of engineering and mechanics, Terry Hart, ’68.

Students must register and register by April 26th to be eligible for participation. For those unable to attend the beginning, students can send a photo and personal message to family and friends that will appear on the website for the beginning.

The details of the student and graduate ceremonies will continue to be updated to meet COVID-19 safety protocols.

This is a developing story. Please return to The brown and white for more updates.
