HS Sports Notebook: MSIT hands Curtis its first loss in boys’ soccer; JV football circuit heats up

The McKee/Staten Island Tech boys’ soccer team needed overtime but handed visiting Curtis his first loss of the season via a 1-0 decision on Wednesday. The Seagulls improved to 6-2, while the Warriors fell to 6-1 and own just a half-game lead in the standings with five contests remaining.

A scoreless game in the 85th minute came to a swift end after MSIT received a corner kick. Freshman left back Erik Schou crossed the ball in and a scrum ensued, though it was senior forward Salvatore Sparacio who collected the loose ball and drilled it home for the win.
