Local Resident Honored with the 2020  Melvin Jones Fellowship

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – Ed Morgan was recently awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship.

The Melvin Jones Fellowship is Lions Club International’s ultimate recognition for recognizing a person’s commitment to humanitarian service.

Morgan and his wife Amy lived in New Providence all their lives, grew up, attended NP Providence High School and raised their two children here. Ed has been an NP Lions member for 10 years and was recently President 2018-2020.

Morgan is an entrepreneur and private portfolio manager with over 30 years of diverse experience. He is a graduate of Lehigh University with a BS in electrical engineering. He has volunteered over the years as a youth sports coach – NP PAL, NP Soccer Club and was a leader of the Cub Scout Pack 263. More recently, he has served on the NP Board of Adjustments and has been instrumental in leading a local mask making program involved in supporting regional health and rescue workers in the early days of the COVID pandemic. He often mentions his reason for giving something back to others: “I have a lot more of it, then I give. It is one of the secrets of life. “
