Kiwanis of Lehigh to award 27 scholarships | News, Sports, Jobs

The Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres is awarding 27 scholarships totaling $ 76,652 to Lehigh Acres students at an awards banquet held on June 25th. Two awards are given to students from Riverdale High School, four to students from Lehigh Senior High School and 15. awarded to students of East Lee County High School. Six awards totaling $ 17,852 go to renewed scholarships to enable students to continue their college education.

The scholarship holders are:

Lehigh Senior High School

– Gia Escorcha $ 5,000

– Durland Bundy 2,000

– Jonathan Kelly $ 2,000

– Yasminie Sahadeo $ 2,000

East Lee County High School

– Skylar Dushek $ 5,000

– Jonathan Hernandez $ 5,000

– Kedrin Altamirano $ 4,800

– Sharen Barthelemy $ 2,400

– Ana Vanessa Cruz $ 2,400

– Diana Echevarria $ 2,400

– Jacqueline Llanes $ 2,400

– Nimslha Massolas $ 2,000

– Deisy Mejia $ 2,400

– Axel Arias $ 2,000

– Jennifer Cabrera Match $ 2,000

– Gabriel Johnson $ 2,000

– Anthony Sierra $ 2,000

– Andy Frech $ 2,000

– Virginia Valentin $ 2,000

These grants are made possible by customers of the Kiwanis Thrift Store at 15 Homestead Road South in Lehigh Acres. This was an unusual year for the students as the high schools key clubs couldn’t meet in person and virtual meetings were a challenge. Kiwanis congratulates graduates from all high schools in our area and wishes them all the best as they continue their education or enter the world of work after graduation.

Lehigh Acres’ Kiwanis Club meets at 7am Wednesday morning for breakfast at El Tarasco Restaurant in Lehigh Acres. The meeting starts at 7.30am with speakers from regional organizations that make our children’s lives better.
