Community Rallies For Family Of Ramon Ramirez, Dad Killed In Shooting Spree

On a GoFundMe page there is growing support for the family of an Allentown man who tragically turns into a Rampage in the Lehigh Valley early Wednesday morning.

As of Friday morning, more than $ 21,300 had been raised for a fundraiser A 31-year-old father of three who was killed Wednesday morning in a rampage in Upper Macungie.

The gunman, Za Uk Lian, had shot two other vehicles before shooting Ramon Ramirez, then running off the scene and pointing the gun at himself, police said.

Ramirez was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m.

An initial fundraiser, launched by longtime Lehigh Valley John D. Miller, was removed pending review after raising nearly $ 5,000.

A Facebook announcement from Miller reads:

“Some of you may have noticed that the GoFundMe campaign I created for the Ramirez family in Allentown, PA is currently unavailable.

GFM put it on hold until my identity was verified. I answered all of their questions and provided my contacts within the Ramirez family to verify the legitimacy of the campaign.

I hope this will satisfy your concerns. We are waiting for GFM to complete their review.

At best they will reactivate the site soon and I will work quickly to distribute ALL funds to Mr. Ramirez’s family.

In the worst case scenario, your donation will be sent back to you using the same payment method that you used to make the donation. I hope this is not the case as Mr Ramirez’s family will certainly need the help.

Thank you for your patience and willingness to help this family through this difficult time. I will provide updates when the situation changes. “
