Lehigh Comes Out Victorious Against Manhattan

LEONIA, NJ – The Lehigh women’s rowing team went to great lengths again on Sunday, this time directly beating Manhattan in every race they started. The reigning Patriot League boat of the week, Lehighs Varsity Eight, continued to impress, leading from wire to wire and winning by more than 30 seconds.

“We had a great day racing,” said Lehigh head coach Brian Conley. “Our Varsity Eight continues to find some speed, which is great, and our Varsity Four looked really sharp today too. We really appreciate the hosting in Manhattan. It was a great venue and we managed to win all three events we won It’s been a great weekend for Lehigh. “

The Varsity Eight ended in 7: 08.30 in front of Manhattan in second place (7: 38.52). The Varsity Four came in 8:15.99, almost 50 seconds ahead of the Jaspers. The final race consisted of mixed fours to get more student-athletes to race, and the Mountain Hawks’ A-entry finish ended first (8: 10.89).

The Lehigh women are slated to return to action in Colgate on Saturday May 1st to take on the Raiders alongside UConn and Marist.
