Lee County operations adjust schedules for holiday | News, Sports, Jobs

Most Lee County’s administrative work closes on May 31st for Memorial Day.

The adjustments to the district’s vacation schedule are as follows:

Solid waste

All trash, recycling, and garden waste collections in unincorporated Lee County, Bonita Springs City, Estero Village, and Fort Myers Beach City will take place one day after the regular collection day for the entire week beginning May 31, your regular pickup day is monday. The pick-up truck picks up the material on Tuesday. The regularly scheduled pickups on Tuesday will be on Wednesday, etc. for the rest of the week through June 5th The regular pickup schedules will resume on June 7th.

Lee County’s solid waste facilities and offices will be closed on May 31st. This includes operations at the household chemical waste collection facility at 6441 Topaz Court in Fort Myers and at the resource recovery facility on Buckingham Road.

Solid Waste urges all residents to recycle plastic, metal and glass from Memorial Day weekend activities.

Parks & Recreation

Lee County Parks & Recreation’s beaches, parks, wildlife sanctuaries, swimming pools, and boat ramps are open May 31st. Recreation centers and administrative offices are closed and will reopen on June 1st.

Lee County Utilities

Lee County Utilities offices, call center, and drive-through window will be closed on May 31st. There is a dropbox on site at the front door and another is accessible via the thoroughfare for payments by check.

Library system

All Lee County Library System locations will close on May 31st. Each branch will resume regular business hours on June 1st.

Lee County Pets

Animal Services at 5600 Banner Drive in Fort Myers is open for regular hours on May 30th. The Lost & Found Pet Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the Pet Adoption Center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Animal Services will close on May 31st, but will resume regular business hours on June 1st.

LeeTran

LeeTran will not be offering bus, trolley or paratransit services on May 31st. The service will continue on June 1st. Route plans and maps can be found at www.rideleetran.com.
