BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Lehigh Head women’s lacrosse coach Jill Redfern announced Monday the Mountain Hawks’ 2022 schedule, which includes 16 games — nine home games, six road games and one game on neutral ground. The reigning Patriot League finalists begin at Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday, February 16, while the Mountain Hawks’ league opener is a repeat of last season’s title game when Lehigh hosts Loyola on Saturday, March 19. Lehigh also meets reigning NCAA tournament team Rutgers on the road before February concludes as part of a challenging non-league list.

The Mountain Hawks play two games in February and travel to Saint Joseph’s on February 16 and Rutgers 10 days later on February 26. Saint Joe’s advanced to the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship Game while the Scarlet Knights earned a major spot in the NCAA tournament where they defeated No. 10 Drexel.

Lehigh starts March with three straight home games and plays five of his first six a month at home. It starts with three games in a week – against La Salle (Wednesday 2nd March), Wagner (Saturday 5th March) and Siena (Tuesday 8th March). The Mountain Hawks then travel to USA Lacrosse’s headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Friday, March 11 for a neutral match against Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers finished last season 10-7 overall and reached the semifinals of the Southern Conference.

Lehigh returns home the following Saturday (March 19) to host Loyola in the Patriot League opener. Three days later, on Tuesday, March 22, the Mountain Hawks host UC Davis in their final nonleague game of the season.

The remainder of March features back-to-back street competitions at Navy (Saturday, March 26) and Army West Point (Wednesday, March 30), two teams Lehigh defeated in his run to last season’s championship game.

A busy April spans six Patriot League contests in less than four weeks — vs. Bucknell (Saturday, April 2), vs. American (Saturday, April 9), at Boston University (Saturday, April 16), vs. Lafayette ( Wednesday 20 April), against Holy Cross (Saturday 23 April) and in Colgate (Thursday 28 April).

The Patriot League tournament begins with the quarterfinals on Sunday May 1st, followed by the semifinals on Thursday May 5th and the league game on Saturday May 7th. The Mountain Hawks will be battling for their eighth consecutive Patriot League tournament spot.
