William “Bill” Aldrich Larson, 94, of Williamsburg, died at home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
He was born on May 25, 1926 in Ionia to William and Josephine (Aldrich) Larson. On May 15, 1948, he married Anita Hansen from Greenville.
A member of the Greatest Generation, Bill was a proud Marine who served his country during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he bought his own farm in Ionia. Soon he was also working for Peschke Packing Co., where he was promoted to plant manager and sales manager. After it closed, he was an independent broker for Hygrade / Sara Lee Foods.
Bill was an active member of several service clubs throughout his life. He was a member of the Antrim County Audit and Planning Committee.
In his spare time, Bill enjoyed playing golf and bridge, tending his vegetable and flower gardens, turning wood, hunting, and boating.
In death his wife Anita preceded him; his parents; and his brother Francis Larson of Ionia.
Bill is survived by his sister Joyce Evans; his daughters Joanne Pretz from Manassas, Virginia and Nancy Glines from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Sons, Gale Larson of Grand Ledge and Neil Larson of Kingsland, Ga .; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Friends are very welcome to attend the funeral service on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids, followed by a reception to celebrate life in the historic Elk Rapids Town Hall.
