Indiana / Northwest (1/30): Went 2-0 on opening day Tri-Dual at Northwestern … Got an 18-5 major over Indiana and finished the day with a 21-6 tech case (7:00) with 4:34 driving time over NU’s Jack Jessen. Wisconsin (2/2): Won his third straight bout in bonus points to open the season by defeating # 10 Wisconsin’s Chris Weiler 13-3. Michigan (2/14): Beat Michigan’s Jaden Bullock with a 10-5 in Ann Arbor. State of Ohio (2/19): Rolled over # 20 Rocky Jordan, Ohio, with 13-4 major. Maryland (2/22): Major Kyle Cochran of Maryland 17-5.
Big Ten Championships (3-0, Champion, NCAA qualification): Won his second consecutive Big Ten championship title with a major 3 with a major. All three wins went over the ranked opponents; 14-8 over # 16 Nelson Brands; 10-2 over # 18 John Poznanski of Rutgers; and 10-5 over # 14 Taylor Venz of Nebraska in the final.
NCAA Championships (5-0, 1st, national champion): Finished the season unbeaten with a 5-0 run through his first NCAA championships and won his first NCAA singles title. Bet # 32, # 17 and # 8 to make it to the semi-finals. Beat # 4 Northern Iowa’s Parker Keckeisen to make it to the NCAA Finals. Beat # 2 North Carolina State’s Trent Hidlay in the finals to become National Champion in 2021.

2019-20 / REAL FRESH SEASON:
Season: Reached an impressive overall record of 15: 1 as a true newbie. Went 9-1 in dual meetings and then won the Big Ten Championship at 184 as a true freshman and qualified for the NCAA championships before the NCAA canceled the event. He should be number 3. Brooks was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Penn State’s third under Cael Sanderson (David Taylor, 2011; Jason Nolf, 2016) … Named first team All-American after the 2020 NCAA tournament in response to one Virus was canceled.
Mat-Town Open (12/1): Won the £ 184 title at the Mat-Town Open at Lock Haven 3-0 with a pin in first action of the year. Lehigh (12/6): Debuted in a Penn State brace on the road, beating Chris Weiler 10-5 in Bethlehem. Penn (12/8): Made the double debut at Rec Hall with a 19-4 Tech Fall (6:03) over Jesse Quatse. Illinois (1/10): Big Ten debut double win, 9-4, over Zach Braunagel at Rec Hall. Rutgers (1/19): Recorded first pin in Rec Hall via Billy Janzer at the 4:36 mark in the Dual Meet win. Iowa (1/31): Impressive 7-3 victory over # 6 Abe Assad of Iowa in the street duel. Wisconsin (2/7): 3-2 win over Johnny Sebastian in the sixth year. Minnesota (2/9): Posted a strong 13-3 major via Owen Webster in Minneapolis. State of Ohio (2/15): Counted six takedowns in the lopsided 15-4 major over # 12 Rocky Jordan in BJC Dual.
Big Ten Championship (3 / 7-8): Won the Big Ten title at 184 as a true freshman after a 3-0 run at Rutgers. Major won # 19 Minnesota Owen Webster 15-4, then pinned Nebraska # 9 Taylor Venz (4:00) to avenge his only loss of the year to date and made it to the finals. Took care of # 7 Michigan State’s Cameron Caffey 3-2 in the title fight to win the crowns. Awarded Big Ten Freshman of the Year after the tournament.
