VFW Post 4174: You ‘Wanna’ Go! | News, Sports, Jobs

In Lehigh Acres, on Homestead Road, we have a unique place called VFW Post 4174. Now, though not “Everyone knows your name” Every member of the Post, Riders and Auxiliary is ready to welcome the entire public to each of our many and varied roles.

A new year is beginning and we have already planned many activities. The first item on the list is our meals. Lunch is from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with specialties that change daily. To help you “Over the hump” A special dinner is served every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., along with entertainment to keep you dancing and “cut a carpet.” Various meals are also offered every week on Friday and Saturday evenings along with popular music of all ages. The best way to start the week is with a Sunday breakfast, where you can get your eggs as you please.

Not only do we have food, it’s Monday evening “Show me the money” Bingo game, a regular bingo on Thursday evenings and twice a month, Hillbilly Bingo is on Saturday afternoons. For the season, just call the post at 239-369-5100.

But more importantly, the upcoming programs that will benefit the area’s veterans, their spouses, and families. The aid organization is responsible for public relations in the community, in which volunteers work for the benefit of our community or its institutions. There is a lot of support for school children teaching them the benefits of American citizenship, what the military stands for, and what it has done for our country. Working with other organizations in the Veterans Combat Trauma Support Group, now open at the Lehigh Acres Flea Market, our post office continues to provide DAV members with any assistance they need, encourage better adjustments to returning Vets in their family life and our riders to make always racing motorcycle to raise funds for the many charities that support them.

The VFW and its aid organizations firmly believe that non-profit service is an act that includes everyone in order to serve the common good in the interest of the community. It is also defined as a service provided for the benefit of the public or their institution.

For your New Years resolution this year, why not make the VFW the place to be “You want to go” and let everyone learn your names! You’ll be glad you did!
