Duluth was named one of the top 10 Christmas towns by the NY tabloid
Like another feather in the hat, Duluth recently got an extra stocking in the stocking when a New York tabloid named it one of the nation’s 10 best Christmas towns.
Lake Superior City is in the company of cities like North Pole, Alaska, Santa Claus, Ind. And Bethlehem, Penn.
Why did Duluth make the list?
Duluth has much of the iconic Minnesota nettle, as shown off during the holidays by volunteers braving the freezing temperatures to hand out hot chocolate and other goodies at the country’s largest Christmas light show to be experienced on foot, the New wrote York Post referring to the free – free Bentleyville Christmas lights in Bayfront Festival Park. Considered America’s largest free walk-in lighting display, Bentleyville began in 2001 in the yard of local business owner Nathan Bentley. It moved to the city park a few years ago and today has well over 4.5 million lightbulbs that shine along the harbor.
The list also cited the Christmas City Express train on the North Shore Scenic Railroads.
City officials shared the props on social media on Wednesday morning, saying: We live in a wonderful city with lots of that are spreading the Christmas spirit this time of year, so it’s no surprise.
