BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania – Lehigh’s season opening game with Hofstra has been canceled due to a positive COVID-19 test result on a member of Hofstra’s Tier 1 staff. The game will probably not be rescheduled.

Level 1 is the highest level of exposure and consists of individuals for whom physical distancing and face covering are not possible or effective during athletic training or competition. Examples of relevant people are student athletes, coaches, sports coaches, physical therapists, medical personnel, equipment personnel, and officials.

The cancellation came shortly before the two teams were supposed to open the wrestling season in the Leeman-Turner Arena.

The Mountain Hawks in 17th place will try to get back into the competition again when they head to Pittsburgh next Saturday to face the Panthers in 14th place. Game time is currently set at 5:00 p.m. from Fitzgerald Field House.
