Lee’s Domestic Animal Services to take part in Clear the Shelters | News, Sports, Jobs

NBCUniversal Local and Telemundo are partnering with hundreds of animal shelters across the country to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide September pet adoption campaign that helps find loving homes for animals in need. More than 551,000 pets have found their homes forever since 2015.

To continue to ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lee County Pet Adoption Center is open Monday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by appointment only. The Center will issue a Pet of the Day Adoption Fee waiver with an approved application each day prior to the event day on September 18 if all adoption fees are waived.

The $ 600 introductory package includes:

• Rabies vaccination and district license for pets over 3 months

• 10-day pet health check-up

• Microchip ID

• Feline leukemia and AIDS tests for cats

• Heartworm test for dogs over 6 months

• Flea treatment

• deworming
