Free symphony trio to perform at ‘Battle of the Arts’ | News, Sports, Jobs

A jazz trio from the Southwest Florida Symphony will perform for free during “Battle of the Arts” on August 14th from 6pm to 7pm at the Bell Tower Artistic and Operations Center in Fort Myers as 26 artists compete against each other on the Strip.

Jazz and Latin standards are performed, including songs by George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and more. Both children and adults are invited to the “Musical sound laboratory”, which will give visitors the opportunity to play some string and percussion instruments.

The trio includes Tom Pizzi on piano, Alex Albanese on bass and Isaac Fernandez on drums.

Organized by Artsemble Underground and Bell Tower, “Battle of the Arts” will take place every second Saturday of the month through 2021 with performances by the Southwest Florida Symphony ensembles.

Artists have three hours to create a new work of art and compete in two categories: the All-Star Award and People’s Choice. At 8 p.m., a prominent jury will assess your work and select a winner.
