03/02/2021 5:08 p.m.
At the beginning of March, Lehighsports.com will take a look at the Lehigh soccer team, which will play a four-game schedule for the Patriot League in spring 2021. The Mountain Hawks, under the direction of sophomore coach Tom Gilmore, will open the 2021 spring season on March 13 against Holy Cross at Goodman Stadium.
We stay in the offensive backfield with a look at the running back position.
Lehigh’s Running Back Room consists of four returnees and one newcomer, led by the 1-2 strike from Junior Rashawn Allen and sophomore Zaythan Hill.
Allen started all 11 games and rushed for 334 yards, highlighted by a 113-yard effort at Sacred Heart. He also showed his talents as a freshman in 2018, rushing for 147 yards and two touchdowns with FBS member Navy.
Hill led the Mountain Hawks in Rush Gardens (394) and touchdowns (five). He scored the eventual game winner late at Colgate, setting a Patriot League record with a 94-yard touchdown run in an overtime win at Fordham.
Junior Peter Lucas hurried 16 runs 53 yards in 2019 but was impressed when he got the chance.
Lehigh also returns to senior Evan Chadbourn, who missed the entire 2019 season. Chadbourn has the versatility to contribute outside the backfield or as a wide receiver.
The only newcomer to the running back group is Jack DiPietro of Long Valley, NJ
