More locals have earned academic awards and degrees from colleges and universities across the country.

Two locals were added to Lehigh University’s Dean’s List in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the spring of 2021. Dylan Morschl-Villa of the Rancho Bernardo area and Alexander Mow of Poway were recognized for a school average of 3.6 or better while completing at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

Several locals were among the 11,813 full-time students at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa in Spring 2021 to receive academic awards.
To get on the President’s List, they had to earn a GPA of 4.0 (all A’s). Among those who received this honor was Christine Millay of Poway.
To make the Dean’s List, they needed a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Locals who received this honor were Payton Ceglie from Poway, Tatum Chapman from Poway, Savannah Evanko from Poway, Elise Hunt from Poway, Hayden Lewis from the Rancho Bernardo area, Madison Smith from the Rancho Bernardo area, Brian Szczotka from Poway and Makena Trust from Poway.

Ohio Wesleyan University has added three locals to its Dean’s List for the spring semester of 2021. To qualify for recognition on the Delaware, Ohio campus, students had to achieve a GPA of 3.5 or better.
The locals who received recognition were Bryan Benavente with zip code 92128, Griff Culbertson of Poway, and Megan Knee with zip code 92128.

Springfield College has added Breannah McCann of the Rancho Bernardo area to its 2021 Spring Dean list. McCann is an exploratory degree. To receive the honor on campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, students were required to complete at least 12 semester hours of graded coursework and a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Kassady Learn from the Rancho Bernardo area has been added to Lewis University’s Spring Dean list 2021. Learn is studying Aviation Administration at the College of Aviation Science Technology on campus in Romeoville, Illinois.

Alexander Mow of Poway holds a BS in Business Administration from Lehigh University. Mow was a marketing major on campus in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
During its opening ceremony in 2021, Lehigh University awarded 1,295 Bachelor, 549 Masters, and 104 PhD degrees.

Caitlin Wade, of the Rancho Bernardo area, graduated from Abilene Christian University in Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood / elementary school. Wade was among the more than 1,200 students who received their degrees during the joint graduation ceremony for the graduates in December 2020 and May 2021.

Skylar Matos, with zip code 92128, was among 962 students put on the Dean’s List in the spring of 2021 at Shenandoah University, based in Winchester, Virginia. To be considered, students had to complete at least 12 hours per week and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Connor McGarvey from the Rancho Bernardo area was added to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Deans List for Spring 2021. McGarvey, a freshman majoring in finance, was listed on the College of Business Dean’s List. The students had to achieve an average grade of 3.6 for the award. More than 6,800 students at the university were recognized.

Three local students received academic awards from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont for the Spring 2021 semester.
Jeremy S. Bixby and Sarah Lawhorn, both from Poway, were added to the presidential list. Full-time students had to earn a 4.0 GPA.
Poway’s Robert Hudson Wagenseller was added to Dean’s List. Full-time students had to achieve a minimum GPA of 3.4.

Poway’s Allison Miller was inducted into Ithaca College’s Spring 2021 Dean’s List in Ithaca, New York.

Ryan Camarata, from the Rancho Bernardo area, was one of more than 900 students to be inducted onto Elmhurst University’s Dean’s List for Spring 2021. Students on the Elmhurst, Illinois campus were required to achieve a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

The Worcester Polytechnic Institute has added Zachary Wong of Poway to its Dean’s List for spring 2021. Wong is a computer science major in the class of 2022.
To be among the 2,148 students recognized by the Worcester, Massachusetts campus, they had to complete a certain number of A-level courses and projects.

Hayden Chinn, a graduate of Poway High, was inducted onto the Honors List of the College of Engineering Dean at the University of California, Santa Barbara for all three semesters of 2020-21. The chemical engineering course completed its junior year.

Hannah Cosgrove from the Rancho Bernardo area received the Dean’s List Award from the University of Tampa for the Spring Semester 2021. To be recognized by the Florida campus, students were required to maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
