Mountain Hawks Suffer Loss to Drexel in Final Meet Before Finals
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team lost 196-98 to Drexel Saturday morning in Philadelphia.
“We used this meet as a learning event, so we had many exhibitions,” said head coach Rob Herb.
Sarah Hardy and Sarah Gill took home the only first-place finishes for Lehigh. Gill once again, swept the one-meter dive (284.85) and the three-meter dive (251.93) to remain unbeaten on the season.
Sydney Izakson came in second in the one-meter dive (241.13) and third in the one-meter dive (224.40)
Hardy continued her hot streak from the Lafayette meet, where she won three events. Hardy won the 50-yard butterfly (25.78), came in second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:47.74) and took second in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:38.92)
Hallie Wilson, Maddie Dorish, Hardy and Noel Fresa were the four on the second-place 200-yard medley relay team. Finishing in third in the 200-yard medley relay out of six teams was another Lehigh squad. Monica Wintermute, Danielle Prekop, Julia Stevens and Caitlin Deitch finished in third with a time of 1:48.04.
The Mountain Hawks will have over a month break before their next meet at Seton Hall on Jan 13.
