All-electronic tolling for Lee bridges becomes permanent Oct. 1 | News, Sports, Jobs

Lee County wants all residents, business owners, and motorcyclists to know that its fully electronic tolling program for the Midpoint, Cape Coral, and Sanibel Causeway Bridges will become permanent in October.

This means that starting October 1, the county will again be charging a $ 3 administrative fee to drivers who do not have a transponder or who do not have positive credit on their LeeWay account.

Transponders for fully electronic toll collection are available free of charge at www.leewayinfo.com.

Lee County has been using fully electronic tolls since the pandemic began in 2020. The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted in June and August of this year to keep this in line with the state’s SunPass program to revert to the same toll fee structure as it was before the pandemic and place toll prices for Adapt motorcyclists to the vehicles.

LeeWay transponders are also available from the customer service center. The administration fee is not charged to drivers with transponders. Several other toll station transponders also work at the district toll stations. Motorcycle customers are also entitled to a transponder.
