Pace Center for Girls to bring back Love That Dress! | News, Sports, Jobs

The Pace Center for Girls, Lee County is bringing back Love That Dress! with a new twist. This year, the event will take place from August 19-21 for three days of shopping at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Estero.

The fundraiser includes shopping and silent auctions, with all proceeds going to Pace programs and services. This year it will offer a collection of 9,000 high quality, brand new boutiques and carefully used clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories, which will be sold to participants at greatly reduced prices. The inventory will be continuously replenished throughout the event.

“We’re excited to introduce this popular event in a new three-day format where fashionistas and bargain hunters can shop while honoring the female spirit.” Event chairwoman Jennifer Nelson said. “This year, we’re excited to bring our largest and most glamorous selection of gently-loved and brand-new fashion pieces to you with an unprecedented barrage of community support.”

The event starts on August 19th with the Love That Dress! VIP shopping event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Embassy Suites. VIP shoppers enjoy a suite and be the first to shop with exclusive access to private changing areas, express checkout, and free drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts.

General admission runs from August 20th to 21st and participants can plan a one-hour time slot for up to 15 people. Shoppers can register online to purchase a wide variety of dresses, shoes, handbags and accessories. General admission times are available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“We are so grateful to the Southwest Florida community for generously supporting the 13th annual Love That Dress! Event and the Mission Pace Center for Girls of Lee County “, said the event co-chair, Amy McQuagge. “This event helps raise critical funds that directly support strengths-based, gender-based programs that help pace girls find their voice, reach their potential, and become strong, productive and contributing members of society.”

The proceeds will be used to provide academic programs and counseling services for girls and young women ages 11-18 who work to address risk factors such as poverty, substance abuse, domestic violence, foster care, neglect, grief, detention of a family member, mental health overcome and physical, emotional or sexual abuse.

General admission tickets are $ 30 per person. Sponsoring opportunities are also available.
