Mountain Hawks Headed to Virginia for Kingsmill Intercollegiate

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s golf team is headed to Virginia to kick off a stretch of two tournaments over seven days at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday at the Kingsmill Resort River Course in Williamsburg, Va.

Fourteen teams will compete in the 54-hole event on the par 72, 6,064-yard River Course. The first 36 holes are set for Monday with the final 18 set for Tuesday. Action will begin with an 8:30 am shotgun start both days.

The field includes William & Mary, Bucknell, Central Michigan, CSUN, Delaware, Lehigh, Longwood, Merrimack, Mount St. Mary’s, Navy, Radford, Richmond, Washington & Lee and Wagner.

Lehigh is coming off a third place finish in the 14-team SHU Spring Invitational, March 11-12 in Daytona Beach, Fla. Sophomore Meghna Grover finished second overall to lead the Mountain Hawks, while first-year Madison Pineda and sophomore Sophie Holland also contributed top 10 individual finishes.

Pineda and Grover will lead Lehigh’s entrant into the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, along with junior Hannah Foster, sophomore Sophia Taverna and first-year Mia Scarpati.

Lehigh last played in this event back in 2018, where the Mountain Hawks finished 10th out of 15 teams.

Following the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, Lehigh will play at the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay, April 2-3 in Grasonville, Md.
