ATLANTA – For the fourth season in a row, the Lehigh women’s basketball team finishes the season in the Top 15 of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25, coming in at No. 12 among Division I institutions in the 2021-22 edition of the rankings.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2021-22 season is the 27th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

The Mountain Hawks compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.65 this school year, once again the only Patriot League school featured on the list for the second consecutive year.

Lehigh’s No. 12 ranking is its highest since finishing at No. 10 for the 2018-19 campaign.

Sophomore Mackenzie Kramer and senior Emma Grothaus earned Academic All-Patriot League selections for the 2021-22 season, marking the third consecutive season with two honorees. Kramer also became the program’s first Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year winner since Lexi Martins (2016) and the third different winner along with Mountain Hawk legend Anne Tierney (2001, 2002).

Founded in 1981, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association promotes women’s basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game as a sport for women and girls.
