BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Former Lehigh men’s basketball great and current New Orleans Pelicans star CJ McCollum has signed a deal with ESPN to serve as an NBA Analyst, as announced earlier this week. McCollum will make his debut on Thursday night as part of “NBA Finals: Celebrating 75,” which will be ESPN2’s alternate presentation of Game 1 between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.

McCollum graduated from Lehigh as a journalism major and has already put his degree to work. Included is a podcast he created, “Pull Up with CJ McCollum.” He did significant work with the Players’ Tribune, while implementing CJ’s Press Pass – an education program – in Portland when he was with the Trail Blazers. That’s just the beginning.

McCollum recently completed his ninth NBA season after being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans midseason. In 26 games with New Orleans, he averaged 24.3 points, 3.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds (which would all be career highs), helping the Pelicans to the NBA Playoffs since 2018. It was the ninth time in as many seasons McCollum advanced to the postseason .

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is Thursday at 9 pm ET on ABC, with McCollum’s broadcast available on ESPN2.
