Lehigh Men’s Golf Set For Second Spring Tournament Monday in Springfield

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s golf team will look to rebound in their second tournament of the spring season on Monday at the Columbia Spring Invitational in Springfield, Pa.

Eleven teams will compete in a one-day 36 hole event at the par 70, 6,760 yard Rolling Green Golf Club. Round one will start at 8:30 am with 36 holes of continuous play.

The field will include Bryant, Columbia, Drexel, Fordham, Iona, Lafayette, Monmouth, Saint Joseph’s, Saint Peter’s and Villanova.

Lehigh played in this event last year when it was an 18-hole event. The Mountain Hawks shot 298 to finish ninth out of 13 teams. Current junior David Hurly shot 71 to lead the Lehigh contingent.

Lehigh is coming off a 13th place finish at the Big Texan Invitational at Comanche Trace with a final score of 945 (324-302-319). Junior Daniel Song was the Mountain Hawk’s low finisher at 230 (80-77-73) and tied for 41st place. Sophomore Marco Arosemena was Lehigh’s next lowest finisher, tying for 55th place with a three-round score of 238 (81-73-84).

The Mountain Hawks will next look to defend their title at the ABARTA Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette at the Steel Club in Hellertown, Pa., April 10-11.
