BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off a second 90th-minute game-winning goal of the season, the Lehigh women’s soccer team hits the road on Saturday to face Loyola. Opening kickoff in Baltimore is set for 1 pm on ESPN+. The Mountain Hawks and Greyhounds find themselves just one point apart in the Patriot League standings. Loyola is in third place with 11 points (3-1-2) while Lehigh is tied for fourth with 10 (3-2-1).

The Mountain Hawks picked up three big points on Wednesday night, as sophomore Imani Ashman made a terrific pass ahead, springing freshman Corinne Lyght in on goal. Lyght wouldn’t be denied as she beat a hard-charging goalkeeper for her second of the game. Lyght had a hand in all six of Lehigh’s goals over his three league victories, tallying three goals and three assists – each 2-1 wins over Lafayette, Holy Cross and Colgate. The Raiders are coming off a trip to the Patriot League Title Game last spring. Freshman Abby Trainor made six saves in goal on Wednesday while senior Erin Keefe made a huge save off the line in the 29th minute, saving a sure goal.

With her two-goal performance, Lyght is now second on the Mountain Hawks in points (9) and tied for second in goals (3), despite playing just eight games after missing several matches in September.

Loyola stands 6-5-3 overall, 3-1-2 in the league following a 1-1 draw against Bucknell. The Greyhounds are riding a four-game unbeaten streak, last losing on Sept. 22 against Navy. That marked Loyola’s only loss in the last month. Sarah Mirr leads the offense in assists (3) and points (7) while Ada Clare Tempert has scored a team-leading three goals, pacing a well-balanced attack that features six with multiple goals. Preseason Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year Paige Sim owns a 1.03 goals against average and 80.8 save percentage.

Loyola leads the all-time series with Lehigh, 5-3-3, with the teams last playing to a scoreless draw last spring. The Mountain Hawks held a dominant 26-9 edge in shots, but couldn’t put one in. Prior to that, the Greyhounds had won the previous two. Lehigh’s last win came in 2017 at home via a 2-0 final. The Mountain Hawks will be looking for their first-ever win at Loyola.

Following Saturday’s game, Lehigh returns home for its final nonleague contest, hosting Princeton on Tuesday at 5 pm on ESPN+. It marks the first game of a double header as the Mountain Hawks’ men’s team welcomes the Princeton men at 7:30 pm
