BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In front of an electric Stabler Arena crowd of 1,732, senior Jeameril Wilson led the Lehigh men’s basketball team with a career-high 23 points in a 91-77 Patriot League Quarterfinal victory over Army West Point Thursday evening. The Mountain Hawk offense was on fire for long stretches, including a 19-2 run during the first half to turn a 27-20 deficit into a 39-29 lead. With the win, Lehigh advances to the Patriot League Semifinals and will take on Colgate Sunday afternoon in Hamilton, NY

“That was a lot of fun,” said Lehigh head coach Brett Reed. “The fans brought great energy in here. I thought our guys were enthused and they were ready to go. The fans super-charged our team. Jeameril then took the lead and super-charged us right from the beginning, moving us forward, then our guys answered the call.”

Lehigh’s offense dominated, featuring four players scoring in double digits. Wilson’s career night included shooting of 66.7 percent from the floor (8-of-12) and 4-for-6 from 3-point range. “Colgate is a very good team,” said Reed. “They’ve been very hot. They play a smart brand of basketball. They’re very skilled. They find little nuances to try to beat you and they just keep going to it.

“We have to play very well, but we have and I’m excited about it,” Reed continued. “We’re going to have to play good teams in the tournament to continue and advance. Irrespective of whoever’s in front of us, let’s go. Let’s see what we’ve got.”
