Online driver license & DMV systems unavailable this weekend | News, Sports, Jobs
Online state driver license and DMV systems will be unavailable to Florida customers this weekend.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will perform scheduled maintenance on its systems. The work will require a complete shutdown of online services from Friday, May 20, at 7 pm through Monday, May 23, at 8 am
Customers will not be able to perform any online motor vehicle transactions during this time. This includes renewing or replacing a driver license or renewing a vehicle or vessel registration. This shutdown also affects the MV Express kiosks located at the Publix Supermarkets at Colonial Crossing, Homestead Shopping Plaza, and the Midpoint Center.
While FLHSMV plans to have all systems operational by 8 am on Monday, May 23, it is possible some services will not be restored by that time, which may affect the Lee County Tax Collector’s normal business operations. As an agent for the FLHSMV, the office is subject to its systems’ performance, officials said there adding the office will have a team in place in case it is notified that the migration did not go as planned, so changes may be made as needed to Monday’s appointments.
