Women’s Tennis Earns Academic Honors From ITA

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s tennis team earned both team and individual academic honors from the International Tennis Association. Junmoke James, Hamsa Javagal and Allyce Gaborik were named ITA Scholar Athletes while the Mountain Hawks were named All-Academic Team for the 2021-22 season. The women’s tennis team finished the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.56, which was the second highest GPA among Lehigh athletics.

Overall, 250 women’s teams earned ITA team awards and 1,517 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a GPA of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

The Mountain Hawks concluded the 2021-22 season with five wins overall, two of which were in league play. The Lehigh women’s tennis team fell to Navy in the Patriot League Quarterfinals.
