BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh seniors Sydney White and Maddie Kahn were selected as Patriot League Players of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.

White, this week’s Offensive Player of the Week, scored two goals on two shots in the Mountain Hawks victory over Bucknell, with one goal being the game-winner in overtime to give Lehigh his sixth-straight win. This is the first time this season that White has captured a Patriot League honor and the first as the Offensive Player of the Week.

White’s first goal came in the third quarter which extended Lehigh’s lead to 2-0 and was her second goal of the season, but she wasn’t done yet. After the Bison forced overtime, the Mountain Hawks earned a penalty corner 36 seconds into the extra period and White ripped a shot into the back of the goal to give Lehigh a 3-2 victory. The game-winning goal was the third of the year and the sixth of her career.

Kahn, named the goalkeeper of the week for the first time this year, posted a 2-0 mark this past week to improve her record to 8-5 overall this season. She totaled 10 saves between the two matches and a save percentage of .762. In the 2-1 overtime win versus Villanova, Kahn recorded six saves in the eight shots on goal and a save percentage of .857. She then made four saves on six shots which gave Lehigh a 3-2 victory over Bucknell.

Also Monday, sophomore Guusje Hogendoorn and first year Kiki Mes were named honorable mention for their efforts against Villanova and Bucknell.

Hogendoorn tallied three points and scored her first-collegiate goal, which was the game-winner with just 8.7 seconds remaining in overtime against Villanova to give the Mountain Hawks their first win over the Wildcats since 1988. In Lehigh’s match against Bucknell, Hogendoorn assisted the game-winning goal that lifted the Mountain Hawks over the Bison for her second assist of the year for four total points this season.

Mes also recorded three points this past week, as she got the Mountain Hawks on the board in the second quarter versus Bucknell to give Lehigh a 1-0 lead on her second goal of the season. She then was credited for an assist on the second goal of the match in the third quarter and her second assist of the year.

Lehigh (8-5, 2-1 Patriot League) has two road contests this week, first a Patriot League match on Friday afternoon at 3 pm in Washington, DC versus American (6-6, 2-2 Patriot League). The Mountain Hawks close out the week with a non-league game against Longwood on Sunday at 11 am
