HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – Eight members of the Lehigh wrestling program competed at the 58th Midlands Championships, Dec. 29-30 at NOW Arena. Three Mountain Hawks earned podium finishes with first-year Ryan Crookham (133) and sophomore Max Brignola (149) finishing in sixth place and junior Sheldon Seymour (125) claiming seventh place.
All eight entrants won at least one bout at the two-day event.
Crookham went 3-0 on Thursday capped by a 2-1 win over Rutgers’ Joe Heilman to reach the semifinals. A third period takedown was the difference in a 3-1 loss to Chris Cannon of Northwestern. Crookham then medically forfeited his final two bouts to finish sixth.
