Thank a firefighter: Shine Your Light set for May 4 | News, Sports, Jobs

The Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District will be lighting up Station 102 in red on May 4 for International Firefighters’ Day.

The public is invited to joint them in thanking firefighters past and present worldwide and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting their community by sharing International Firefighters’ Day on social media and online and by switching out exterior lights to red for the day.

International Firefighters’ Day, created by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, is a day to thank firefighters for all they do to keep the community safe. Born out of the tragic loss of five firefighters in a wildfire in Victoria, Australia, this day honors their lives and sacrifices.

Station 102 is at 44 Homestead Rd S.
