Russell Places Fourth at All-Atlantic Region Championships

Bethlehem, Penn. – The Farmingdale State men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed at the 2022 All-Atlantic Region Championships at Moravian College on Wednesday and Thursday.

Junior Emily Russell (Southold, NY) captured fourth place in the Heptathlon with a personal-best score of 4,174 points across the seven events. Russell took 9th in the 100m hurdles (17.15, 580 pts.); T-5th in the High Jump (1.52m, 644 pts.); 2nd in the shot put (11.47m, 626pts.); 5th in the 200m (26.98, 713 pts.); 5th in the Long Jump (4.90m, 532 pts.); 3rd in the Javelin (27.62m, 432 pts.) and 5th in the 800m (2:33.69, 647 pts.). Russell’s mark ranks second on the FSC all-time list and is just 15 points off of the record set by Leslie Reina (4,189 pts.) in 1997.

Also for the women, junior Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, NY) came in 23rd place in the 800m in a time of 2:23.35.

In the men’s 110m hurdles, junior Rodney Jerome (Westbury, NY) posted a time of 15.87 for 19th place.

Senior Joseph Stocken VI (Miller Place, NY) placed 25th in the 400m hurdles in a time of 57.26.
