Mountain Hawks Wrap Up Play at Wildcat Invitational
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Playing in their final stroke play event before the Patriot League Championship, the Lehigh men’s golf team tied for 12th place out of 15 teams at the Wildcat Invitational, which wrapped-up Tuesday at Radnor Valley Country Club. All five Lehigh players shot seven over par 77 on Tuesday as Lehigh carded a final round 308 to post a final score of 603 (295-308).
Junior David Hurly was Lehigh’s top finisher at the Wildcat Invitational. Hurly’s 67 on Monday was the lowest round of the tournament. With a 77 on Tuesday, Hurly tied for sixth place at 144. Hurly carded two birdies in his final round.
Behind Hurly, junior Daniel Song and sophomore Edmund Broderick tied for 47th place at 152 (75-77). Song matched Hurly with two birdies on Tuesday.
First-year Aidan Oehrle and junior Sam Barton tied for 61st place at 155 (78-77). Barton carded two birdies in the final round while Oehrle made one.
Marquette captured the team title at 566 (281-285) as the Golden Eagles defeated second place LIU by 16 strokes.
Hunter Eichhorn of Marquette was the individual medalist at three under par 137 (68-69). Eichhorn defeated Sahasawat Ariyachatvakin of Delaware by one stroke.
The Mountain Hawks will face Lafayette in match play Thursday for the annual President’s Cup matches at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, NY Lehigh then will shift focus to the Patriot League Championship, hosted by Lafayette, April 29-May 1 at the Steel Club.
