Mountain Hawks Capture 15th Straight Victory vs. Lafayette

EASTON, Pa-. The Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team won its 15th straight victory over Lafayette at Easton Friday night. The Mountain Hawks took home 14 first-place finishes in a dominant 219-80 victory.

Lehigh is now 4-1 on the season, while Lafayette fell to 0-6 on the season.

Senior Sarah Hardy led things for the Mountain Hawks. She won three events, setting two Lafayette pool records, a team record and was 0.1 seconds away from an NCAA B cut time. Hardy won the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.32), the 100-yard butterfly(55.49), the 200-yard IM (2:05.71) and came in second in the 200-yard medley relay.

Anushree Ghate, Maddie Dorish, Julia Stevens and Noel Fresa won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.70.

Dorish also won the 100-yard backstroke. Fresa won the 50-yard freestyle, and Sarah Manthrop won the 100-yard freestyle.

Natalie Martin won the 1000-yard freestyle. Mairin Ludwig won the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. Ludwig also broke a pool record with a time of 4:56:07 in the 500-yard freestyle. The records don’t stop there. Willa Werwaiss won the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke. She set a pool record in the 200-yard backstroke.

Sarah Gil continued her undefeated streak, winning the one-meter dive with 246.50 points.

The Mountain Hawks will look to continue their hot momentum when they take on Drexel in Philadelphia at 10:30 am on Dec. 3.
