BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following its fourth-place regular season finish and its second-straight Patriot League Tournament berth, the Lehigh women’s soccer team picked up a major award and five All-Patriot League honors, announced by the league on Friday afternoon. Sophomore Corinne Lyght has been named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Patriot League. Senior Ryelle Shuey joins Lyght on the first team while graduate student Erin Keefe, senior Mattie Murphy and junior Ava Schaller were all named to the third team.

Lyght leads the Mountain Hawks with six goals and 13 points this season. The sophomore from Scotch Plains, NJ is the first Mountain Hawk to receive this award since 2005, when current assistant coach Gina Lewandowski won her second straight Offensive Player of the Year award.

Opening up the season with a goal against Siena on Sept. 8, Lyght has been on an offensive tear for the Mountain Hawks, scoring four goals in the last six games. She is currently tied for first in the league in goals this season. On top of her first-place standing in goals, Lyght also ranks third in the league in shots, fourth in points and fifth in shots on goal.

Shuey has been named All-Patriot League for the third time in her Lehigh career. The Schaefferstown, Pa. native was named second team in spring 2021 and third team in the fall of 2021. She has a career-high three goals so far this season, including a game-winner against Holy Cross on Sept. 24.

Keefe, who was named Preseason All-Patriot League this season, has received an All-League honor for the third time in her career. The graduate student was named first team during her senior season in 2021 and was named second team in the spring of 2021. The Basking Ridge, NJ native has been a key component of the Lehigh backline throughout the season. Against St. John’s, she scored her first collegiate goal to give the Mountain Hawks the 1-0 victory.

The third team honor marks Murphy’s first of her career. The Apex, NC native is making her final season as a Mountain Hawk count, tallying two goals and three assists so far this season. Murphy scored her second goal of the season in Lehigh’s 2-0 victory over Navy on Oct. 7.

Schaller received All-Patriot League honors for the second time in his Lehigh career. The junior, who was named second team all-league last season, has three goals for the Mountain Hawks this season. Schaller has scored a goal in each of Lehigh’s last two games, helping guide the team to its fourth-place regular season finish.

The fourth-seeded Mountain Hawks will return to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Sunday to host fifth-seeded Navy at 2 pm in the Patriot League Quarterfinals. Opening kickoff is set for 2 pm and will be streamed on ESPN+.
