BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a two-week hiatus due to final exams, the Lehigh women’s basketball team returns to action against Delaware Sunday at 2 pm at Stabler Arena.

This will be the last non-league home game for the Mountain Hawks as they will finish up the non-conference slate on the road against Yale on Wednesday.

So far, Delaware is off to a 5-4 start this season, while Lehigh is 3-6. The Blue Hens are coming off of a two-game losing streak to Duquesne and Princeton.

Delaware made it to the NCAA Tournament last season after winning the CAA title and played Maryland in the first round. The Blue Hens were defeated 102-71.

The Mountain Hawks are 10-18 all time against the Blue Hens. Lehigh has lost the last eight matchups. Lehigh’s last win in the series came in 1990. It will be the first meeting between the schools since 2013 when Delaware won 77-64 in the championship game of the Christmas City Classic.

Frannie Hottinger was named Patriot League Player of the Week on Dec. 5 for the second time this season after scoring a career-high of 34 points vs. Rider and putting up 18 points against La Salle.

The senior is 21st in the nation in scoring (20.3 points per game) and 30th in rebounding (9.8 rebounds per game).

First-year Lily Fandre has been impressive so far in the first nine games of her collegiate career. She is third on the team in scoring (7.7 points per game).

Mackenzie Kramer is the only other Lehigh player to be putting up double figures (18.1 points per game). The junior is shooting an impressive 52.7% from beyond the arc.

Delaware’s Makayla Pippin leads the Blue Hens with 10.6 points per game. She is the only one to average double figures, but Klarke Sconiers (9.9), Jewel Smalls (9.6) and Kharis Idiom (9.1) are all very close to doing so.

Both schools are averaging at least 70 points through nine games of the season.

Sunday’s game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
