Lehigh defeats Lafayette for 31st consecutive year

EASTON, Pa. – It came down to the last event of the meet, but the Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team beat Lafayette 152-136 for its 31st straight win over the Leopards, Friday night.

The men had seven first place finishes.

Lehigh improved to 2-3 on the season, while the Leopards dropped to 1-6.

First-year Aaron Williams continues to shine. He won the 100-yard butterfly (49.92), was on the winning 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard medley relay team.

Tim Norris won the 50-yard and the 200-yard freestyle. Norris was also on the winning 400-yard medley relay with Williams, Alex Patti and Aiden McCurley.

McCurley also won the 200-yard medley relay alongside Williams, Elvin Lee, McCurley and Jack Devilbiss.

The 400-yard medley relay team was the last event, and the one Lehigh was waiting on. It determined who was going to come out of the meet victorious. The Mountain Hawks won the race with a time of 3:01.89.

Miles Cox won the 200-yard butterfly (1:51.40) and came in second in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Mountain Hawks return to action against Drexel on Dec. 3 at 10:30 am in Philadelphia.
