Burke Named Patriot League Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s track and field senior Kyle Burke was named Patriot League Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Burke had an incredible weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic, breaking his fifth and sixth school records of the year. The Clarks Summit native finished fourth in the 1500m on Friday night and second in the 800m on Saturday afternoon.

He finished the 1500m with a time of 3:44.57, breaking Sean Brown ’19’s record of 3:44.72. On Saturday in Lewisburg, Burke shattered Niall Buckley ’11’s 800m record (1:50.38), finishing second overall with a time of 1:49.76.

Burke and the rest of the men’s track and field team will head down to the University of Virginia to compete at the Virginia Challenge on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23. The Mountain Hawks are also set to compete at Moravian’s Coach P Invitational on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23.
