BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh sophomore Edmund Broderick has been named the Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. Broderick shot a blistering final round 66 at Monday’s Columbia Spring Invitational, to finish in the top five overall.

After shooting 76 in Monday’s opening round, Broderick followed with a career-low 66 in the afternoon to tie for fifth place at two over par 142. Broderick bogeyed his first hole of the Monday afternoon round and then reeled off birdies in five of his next seven holes before making par on his final 10 holes.

Broderick’s previous low rounds came during Columbia’s fall tournament in October when he carded rounds of 70 and 71 and tied for fifth place there.

This year, Broderick has played 18 rounds over all seven of Lehigh’s tournaments. He has a scoring average of 76,167.

Broderick and the Mountain Hawks will play in Lafayette’s ABARTA Collegiate Invitational Sunday and Monday at the Steel Club in Hellertown.
